MR MIKES® STEAKHOUSECASUAL BRINGS THE WARMTH OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH SIXTH-ANNUAL DEEDS WELL DONE CAMPAIGN

Charities Across Canada to be Recognized by the Local Communities They Serve  

 For the sixth year running, MR MIKES® SteakhouseCasual is paying it forward with the return of Deeds Well Done, a nation-wide holiday initiative that encourages restaurant guests to celebrate the people who make their communities a better place.

The sixth-annual Deeds Well Done campaign will run from November 19 to December 31, and guests are encouraged to nominate a registered charity in their community during this time. One registered charity from each of MR MIKES® 40 markets will receive community-wide recognition along with a group dinner at their local MR MIKES SteakhouseCasual location and $500 from MR MIKES® to further support their cause.

Deeds Well Done launched in 2013, and MR MIKES® has recognized approximately 250 charities and individuals across Canada since its inception. The purpose of Deeds Well Done is to inspire people in each MR MIKES® market to reflect on what’s truly important during the holiday season while giving back to their community. The campaign brings communities together to rally around amazing organizations in their own backyard. The 2017 Deeds Well Done program resulted in 1,400 nominations from 37 communities in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.

“We believe in the importance of supporting the communities MR MIKES® is proud to serve, and Deeds Well Done is an opportunity to thank the local organizations who work tirelessly to make positive change in these communities,” said Robin Chakrabarti, President, MR MIKES SteakhouseCasual. “The holiday season is a time to give back and support those in need, and Deeds Well Done is a great way for guests to make an impact on their community.”

In addition to accepting community nominations, MR MIKES® restaurants across the country partner with local organizations during the holiday season to help fulfill a need within the community. To spread the spirit of “Deeds Well Done”, this year, many MR MIKES restaurants will be supporting their own local communities. Past partnerships have included MR MIKES® Langford hosting a stuffed animal drive for the BC Children’s Hospital, MR MIKES® Fort St John supporting a local family from the Women’s Shelter with a Christmas Hamper, MR MIKES® Saskatoon collecting food donations for the Saskatoon Food Bank and MR MIKES® Grande Prairie selling items to raise money for Purple With A Purpose to support those living with pancreatic cancer.
