Abigail Mary Korosi was born in Wakaw, SK on May 11, 1972 to Frank and Margaret (Wendt) Korosi. She was the youngest of seven children. Abbie attended school in St. Benedict, excelling in many sports, and graduated in 1990. When she was in high school, Abbie met her future husband, Randy Martin.
Always an ambitious and hard worker, Abbie balanced many jobs over the years. With her love for all kids, she was always eager to take on her next babysitting job. Abbie’s first jobs were waitressing at the St. Benedict Hotel and working at Cedar Ridge Greenhouse in 1992. That fall, Abbie took her office education course at St. Peters College in Muenster. In 1993, Abbie took a job in Lake Louise housekeeping at Mountaineer Lodge with her childhood best friend, Tammy Martin, for the summer. Following this adventure, she started her career with the Provincial Government working at Land Titles in Prince Albert. In 1996, Abbie moved to Melfort to join Randy, and to begin work at Hodgins Auctioneers. That year, following harvest, Abbie and Randy got engaged. Abbie and Randy were married in St. Benedict on July 12, 1997. Abbie worked at Hodgins Auctioneers full time until 2001, and continued casual until 2010.
Abbie and Randy were blessed with three beautiful children. Wyatt Franklin was born July 13, 1998. On April 24, 2001, Alexandria Alice was born. This year also saw Abbie begin operating a home daycare. Layne Aimé was born July 22, 2003. Abbie adored her children, took pride in their accomplishments and kept them active in many of the sports and amenities Melfort had to offer.
Abbie was very community-minded, being involved with the Kinettes for years. In addition to raising her own children, and caring for her little daycare people, Abbie became a billet mom for the Melfort Mustangs in 2006. She welcomed countless young men into their home and loved them like her own. She continued this until her passing.
In 2010, Abbie started a position as Administrative Assistant at MNP until 2015. Abbie held various jobs between 2015-2017. In August 2017, she began working at Service Canada in Melfort.
Abbie enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, watching sports, playing cards, gardening, visiting and having a strong cup of coffee or nice cold beer. Her creativity knew no bounds, with her folk art and crochet creations adorning the homes and heads of many of those who knew her.
Abbie passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, surrounded by her family, after a brief recurrence of cancer. She is survived by her husband, Randy and their three children Wyatt, Alexandria, and Layne, her mother, Margaret (Lawrence) Blandin, and siblings, Allan (Faye) Korosi, Eugene (Michele) Korosi, Val (Denis) Masse, Bev Korosi (Roger Lins), Angie (Duane) Lindbloom.
