It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Alvin “Bud” Williams of Melfort, SK on Wednesday October 27, 2021, at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Bud entered his eternal heavenly home at the age of 94. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by Ellen, his wife of nearly 69 years; children David, Irene, Bruce, Joyce (Jim), Wesley (Marian), Ronald (Sheila), Hazel and Mark; his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bud is also survived by siblings Stan (Doreen) and Iris (Arthur) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Wesley and Hazel and brothers and sisters-in-law Clarence (Fay) and Ken (Phyllis).
Bud, the first of five children, was born on July 24,1927 in Chauvin, Alberta to Wesley and Hazel Williams. In 1930, the family moved to Saskatchewan where he attended a one room school in the Leviathan District. In 1952, he married Ellen Mann, the beautiful neighbour gal that caught his eye and they started married life on the Red Hall Quarter. The couple moved to Saskatoon in 1956 for Bud’s work in commercial concrete, paving and painting and then employment with Neon Signs. In 1962, they returned home to farm, and in 1965 bought the home quarter, raised their 8 children, and continued farming until retirement. Bud and Ellen loved to dance and attended many local social events that were wonderful occasions making many memories to reflect upon in later years. In 2002, they settled in Melfort for retirement and on Sundays he looked forward to the service and fellowship at the Melfort Salvation Army Church. Bud
enjoyed the simple things in life like a good conversation and a home cooked meal. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, lending a helping hand and a love for his farm animals.
The family extends a special thank you to those that cared for Bud since last week.
A private family celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 1:30 PM. The service will be livestreamed for his friends on the Melfort Salvation Army’s Facebook page.
