Beatrice Irene Haidenger (nee Snell) was the eldest of two daughters born to John and Annie Snell at the Lady Minto Hospital in Melfort on May 17, 1920.
She spent the majority of her life living in the Silver Park District and town of Melfort.
She grew up on a farm. As a young woman she worked at the Silver Park General Store. She then took a journey on the train to Flin Flon where she worked in a general store for a short period of time. She then returned to Melfort where she became a clerk at the Melfort Co-op store for a number of years. On January 14, 1950 she married Rodie Haidenger. They were blessed with two daughters, Bonnie in 1951 and Heather in 1954.
Beatrice was a devoted homemaker and mother. As time passed, she began working at the MacLeod’s store in Melfort. Beatrice was involved and gave of her time to community organizations throughout her years.
Beatrice was predeceased by her parents John and Annie, her husband Rodie, her sister Marguerite Berg and many extended family members.
She is survived by her daughters Bonnie (Ray) Baker and Heather (Bob) Bartch, granddaughter Amy (Ryan) Dyck and great granddaughter Hattie Dyck.
After selling her home, she moved to Diefenbaker Towers where she lived for 18 years, then to Nirvana Assisted Living for four years and then to Parkland Place for three years until her peaceful passing on January 10, 2019 at the age of 98 years.
Thanks to Dr. Wingate and all the staff at Parkland Place for their loving care given to our mother.
She will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Goodbye Mom.
