It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Diana Rae Fengstad, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
Diana was born and raised on a farm in the Tisdale, SK area where she spent her early years and completed her schooling. Diana then went on to attend business school in Prince Albert, SK. On September 14, 1963, Diana married the love of her life and best friend Bill Fengstad in Tisdale SK. Together they had 3 children, Ward, Donna and Skipp.
Over the years, they made their home in North Battleford, SK, before returning to Prince Albert, and later settling in Nipawin. Wherever they lived Diana created a warm and welcoming home for her family. Mom spent her days gardening, baking and crafting. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing up the Hanson Lake Road with the family. She was also an avid and accomplished curler. Mom was quick to laughter and song. She was always the lead singer with Dad strumming the guitar to Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson or Waylon Jennings.
She was a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen. Mom fiercely loved her family and friends, and we were blessed to love her in return. Above all she cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Diana will be remembered by her children, Ward (Leona) Fengstad, Donna (Kerry) Garchinski, Skipp (Melinda) Fengstad; six grandchildren, Teejay, Amanda, Justin, Riley, Jessica and Tyson and 6 great grandchildren. As well as many relatives and friends
Diana was predeceased by her husband, Bill Fengstad; her parents Ray and Doris McKeachie and her sister Karen. She joins them now as these were the family she dearly missed the most.
A celebration of Diana’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, donations in Diana’s memory may be directed to, Rose Garden Hospice, 500 – 38th St. West, Prince Albert, SK S6W 0A3 www.rosegardenhospice.ca
