Doreen Paynter

Doreen Hellen Paynter was born north of Kinistino on the family farm on September 26, 1931 to Joseph and Marie Hanson. She was the second oldest of eight children. She attended the country school, Roosevelt and Falcon. After school, Doreen worked various jobs in Prince Albert and Kinistino, housekeeping and caring for children, then worked at the Swen Café followed by the OK Economy. During that time she met the love of her life, John Paynter, they married December 15, 1954, moved to the family farm and went on to have two sons. Doreen enjoyed dancing, baking, gardening, taking pictures, skating and baseball. She was actively involved in the Anglican Church and the Legion. John and Doreen moved off the farm to Kinistino in 2005.
She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers, Earl (Merna), Lloyd and Fred, two sisters, Jeannette (Gordon) Fidler and Annette (Marcel) Vermette, and four brothers-in-law, Jerry Jones, Keith Winge, Bob (Willa) Paynter and Vernon Neil.
Doreen will be greatly missed by her husband, John, children, Brent and Larry (Celia), her grandchildren, Angie (Mike Harold), Tami (Darren) Taylor and Garth (Stephanie Courtney), and her three great-grandchildren Callie Harold, and Kaden and Carter Taylor. She will also be missed by her two sister, Delores Jones and Shirley Winge, five sisters-in law, Norma Hanson, Jan Vermette, Sharon Hanson, Mary Neil and Jean (Al) Robstead, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews
Memorial contributions in memory of Doreen may be directed to the St. George’s Anglican Church and / or a Charity of Choice.
