Earle Ronald Metcalfe was born on June 16th, 1954 in Nipawin Saskatchewan to Ronald and Ethel Metcalfe. His two older sisters were delighted to have a baby brother.
Earle started school at Sandhill Creek before moving to Gronlid Central School graduating in 1972. After graduating he worked odd jobs in the Ratner and Nipawin area. In 1974 he moved to Calgary working as a millwright. During this time he experienced a work accident and earned the nick name six shooter. Soon after he moved back to Nipawin, where he started working at Datson and then the Esso Bulk station hauling anhydrous. During this time Earle met Judy and they moved to Weyburn. While in Weyburn he took his small motor mechanic course and operated a rental business.
Earle and Judy were married in 1982, welcoming their son Steven in 1983 and daughter Stacey in 1986. They returned to the family farm making Earle the third generation to farm the land. He ran a small motor repair business out of the shop on the farm keeping himself busy when he wasn’t farming. During the winter months he would venture into the bush where he would haul logs. Eventually Earle would become a proud owner of his own semi and started hauling grain. Over his 45 years of trucking, he saw many parts of Canada and the USA. Pulling many different types of trailers and loads of all different sizes. Judy joined him for the last 8 years where they drove as a team. After 2 years of retirement Earle and Judy purchased a pilot truck, and back on the road they went to make more memories on the road. They continued their pilot work until his passing.
Earle left us on February 24th, 2025. He was predeceased by his parents Ronald and Ethel Metcalfe, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Maida Langridge, and daughter-in-law, Amanda Metcalfe.
Lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years Judy Metcalfe. Children and grandchildren Steven and Christian, Stacey and Hannah, Curtis, Riley. Sisters Shirley (Barry) Metcalfe, Caroline (Allen) Scheinous, many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
