Ellen Darlene Fidyk passed away October 15, 2017 at the age of 68, with her husband Lyle and daughters Tracy and Tina by her side. Ellen was the third child of Floyd and Margaret Harmon of the St. Brieux, SK, area. 
Ellen married Dennis Wayne Pederson November 15, 1969 and they had three children Tracy, Kevin and Tina. The family spent the early years of their marriage living in Melfort, SK and area, then moving to Hudson Bay, SK in 1975 for the next 6 years before then moving back to Melfort in 1981.
On a beautiful summer day, in 1990, at Spruce Haven Park, Ellen and Lyle Jay Fidyk exchanged vows and started their 27 year marriage. They spent most of their married life living in Melfort, with a brief stint trying the northern lifestyle in Denare Beach, SK (1999 – 2002). 
Ellen loved entertaining and was usually the hostess for family get-togethers. She would spend weeks making lists and preparing food for her “feast” always making sure to bake everyone their favorite pie, which always included a pie to take home “… for later”. Everyone was always welcome in Ellen’s home, and whenever company was on the way she would rush to the grocery store making sure that there was food in the house to feed everyone, and she always had a fresh pot of coffee ready for drop-ins. Although Ellen loved entertaining and spending time with family and friends, there was nothing she loved more than her grand children. She was there for every one of their births and spent as much time with them as she could. Even up until her last days she responded with a smile every time she heard one of their voices. 
More recently Ellen enjoyed spending time at Jan Lake, SK during family camping trips. She was always ready to exchange stories or “witty” remarks around the camp fire with her “lake” family. 
At the age of 63 Ellen was diagnosed with early onset dementia which led to her eventual admittance into Parkland Place on January 30, 2015, where she remained until her final days. Ellen was predeceased by her father Floyd, mother Margaret, Brother Gerald Harmon (Gerry), half-sisters and brothers Lorrae, Ruby, Rebecca (Becky), Louise, James, and Leith.
Ellen is survived by her husband Lyle, Children Tracy (Brian) Hovland, Kevin (Val) Pederson, and Tina Pederson. Grandchildren Brandon (Tracy), Bryton (Tracy), Trayelle (Tina), and Travin (Tina) and Great granddaughter Arryonna (Trayelle). Brothers Lorne (Elizabeth) Harmon, and Les Harmon. Numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. 
Ellens’ strength, courage, love, compassion and joy for of life will be cherished and continue to grow in everyone who was blessed to a part of her colorful life.
