Fay was born in Star City on June 22nd, 1941, the only child to Phyllis Berdan. She spent her first years growing up and attending school in Star City.
On June 9th, 1962, Fay married the love of her life, Clayton Tyacke. The two were later blessed with five children.
Fay and Clayton not only cared for their own children, but they also looked after many different kids from various families. Whether it be in their own house, or in someone else’s, Fay and Clayton loved spending time watching over children.
Always ambitious to work and volunteer, Fay had many jobs over the years. She enjoyed working as a guard at the Melfort Police Detachment, and as a housekeeper at the Hi-Lo hotel in Melfort.
When the kids were involved in hockey and skating, she cherished the moments at the rinks working in the kitchen and socializing with other mothers.
Fay was a lifetime member with the Star CIty United Church Women, and lately was involved with the Fellowship Group.
She was constantly involved with the community, whether it be The Museum Board, The Library Board, or The Plus Industries Board in Melfort.
Fay received the Star City Citizen of the Year in 2016 for her hardwork and dedication to various groups, and for her kind and loving heart.
Fay loved camping and fishing. She repeatedly looked forward to her time at Nipawin each summer. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family making memories around the campfire.
Fay passed away in Saskatoon on August 19, 2019 at the age of 78 years.
She is survived by her children: Dena (Gord) MacKenzie, Duane Tyacke, Dwight (Trinity) Tyacke and Dallas Tyacke; grandchildren: Cody (Wendy) MacKenzie, Cameron (Becky) MacKenzie, Shay (Damon) Hemsley, Taylor Tyacke, Tegan (Quincy) Tyacke-Sisson and Kaylee Tyacke; great grandchildren: Hunter, Keegan, Auhtumn, Kaiden, Hudson, Bentley, Brailie, Beckham, Owen and Harper; sisters-in-law: Frieda Tyacke and Eilene Pederson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
