In Loving Memory of Anne Heidt
Posted Jun 3, 2024 | 11:18 AM
It is with great sadness that the family of Anne Heidt announces that our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed from this life on May 24, 2024 at Parkland Place in Melfort, Saskatchewan.
Our mother was born Anna Kopp on March 17, 1930 in Broadacres, Saskatchewan. She grew up speaking German and learned English only after starting school. She lived with her parents, two brothers and one sister near Kerrobert on a farm just down the road from the Heitt’s where she met, fell in love with, and married Ted Heidt in 1950. Then they took the train north to Melfort and never looked back. Their family grew with the addition of Dale in 1951, Heather in 1955, Randy in 1961, Holly in 1963 and Ged in 1969. After Dad passed away in 2001, Mom took care of the property for another 20 years, keeping the family home and garden full of life and love for 70 years.
Anne was a proud member of the Catholic Woman’s League (CWL) for 42 years. She had many hobbies, and loved to play bingo, card games, gardening, creating treats in the kitchen, lovingly making all types of crafts for gifts, and so much more. She also loved to fish and enjoy feasting on her fresh catch.
Anne had an incredible sense of humor, and loved to tell jokes and stories, and loved to laugh with her many friends and family. She enjoyed playing April Fools Day tricks on her kids and celebrated her St. Patrick’s day birthday with green beer, big leprechaun hats, and anything with a clover or a pot of gold.
Mom will be lovingly and forever remembered and missed by the many lives she touched. She has been dearly loved, and we are so blessed and thankful for her guidance.
Anne was predeceased by her parents Henry and Gertrude Kopp, her loving husband Ted, her brothers Raphael and Joeseph Kopp, and her sister Helen Betle. Left to mourn and go on are her five children Dale (Gaylene), Heather (Ron), Randy (Quyen), Holly, and Ged (Colleen), her 12 grandchildren Kevin, Darryl, Corinna, Shawna, Tyler, Whitney, Miranda, Carly, Haylee, Kurtis, Isaiah and Maleia, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.
Visitation for Anne will be held on Tuesday June 4, 2024 from Melfort Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday June 5, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady of Consolation Parish, 104 Crawford Avenue West, Melfort, Sask. In lieu of flowers , please consider a donation to the North Central Health Care Foundation. P.O. Box 1480 Melfort, SK S0E 1A0.
