In Loving Memory of Kevin Lawrence Keller
January 29, 1958 – March 3, 2019
It is with great sadness that we are announcing the passing of Kevin Lawrence Keller.
Kevin was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan on January 29, 1958 to Lawrence and Hilda Keller.
He attended Gronlid School and graduated in 1976. Kevin hauled water from Shapitka’s Creek to many homes in Gronlid and area; when the home still had cisterns. He also drove truck for Choiceland Dehy, surveyed for the department of highways and helped his dad on the farm, all while attending high school.
On June 25, 1977, he married Janyce Willerton, together they raised two sons; Justin and Derek and farmed in the Gronlid area. Kevin also worked at CSP Foods in Nipawin, setting up machinery in the summer and working at the Wapiti ski hill; hauling and making snow as well as grooming the runs.
Kevin enjoyed all school sports; he played hockey with the Gronlid Rifles and also curled. He enjoyed riding toboggan, fishing and Rider games. He coached both of his sons in hockey and was involved in every sport they played. He instilled the love of fishing with his grandchildren when he bought them their first little fishing rods. Kevin enjoyed their happiness and how proud they were when they caught their first fish.
Kevin loved projects and he could fix, manufacture or build almost anything that was needed. He was generous with his time and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
His memory will forever be remembered and cherished by his wife Janyce, sons: Justin (Celeste) and Derek (Janine); his most precious and loved grandchildren: Mila, Max and Krew and all of his family, friends and others who were touched by his life.
Kevin was predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Hilda Keller and his brother Terry Keller.
The family will have a private memorial and interment at a later date.
