Larry Knut Nicholson of Melfort, SK passed away suddenly on February 3, 2024 in Nipawin SK.

He was born on February 5, 1947 to Knut & Mary Isobel Nicholson in Melfort SK.

Larry had his schooling in Melfort and took his driver instructor training course in Saskatoon.

He married the love of his life Marilyn Isabella Leathem on March 29, 1969. They had 55 loving years together. They had 3 children, Kelly Scot, Lynette Deanne & Chad Larry.

He had several other jobs throughout his life besides driver instructor, including Owner/operator of Larry’s Drywall & Melfort Taxi and Bar       manager at Chances R, Heritage Inn and Hi-Low in Melfort. But his favorite by far was having been almost two years as a commissionaire with the  Melfort RCMP.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman, all round outdoor person. He loved spending time with family and friends doing all of his favorite things. He loved his family very much and would do anything for them. He was also the personification of the perfect neighbor. He loved people!

He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn and his children: Kelly, Lynette (Rod Welch), Chad (Carey) and his eight grandchildren: Scot, Curtis, Mark, Maury, Charmain (Jamie), Ethan (Jessica), Zachary & Jacob. And five great grandchildren: Zander, Kaylee, Brooklynn, Nash and Sereena.

Also survived by his sister Rose LaPointe (Bert), brother Ralph (Eileen), sister-in-law Paulette (Don), sister Annette (Bryan) Williamson and many nieces & nephews.

He was predeceased by his father Knut, Mother Isobel, brother Donald and sister Dianne.

A Service Celebrating Larry’s Life will be held from the Fedusiak Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Larry Rempel officiating.  The interment will take place at a later date.

Friends so wishing may make memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan.
