Lloyd Arnold Olson

The family of Lloyd Arnold Olson of Melfort sadly announce his passing at the Melfort Hospital on Tuesday January 19, 2021. He was 95 years old.
Dad joined his parents; Erland and Emma (Rostvold), brothers; Martin (Hansina), Selmer, Edwin, and sister Myrtle (Dave Reimer, Ed Seykora), son-in-law; Garry Jackson, parents-in-law; Edwin and Augot Erickson, sister-in-law Irene (Leonard) Bowman, brothers-in-law Walter Pearson, Melvin Oberg and Sixten Lindskog, sisters-in-law Jeanette Erickson and Fern Skiftun. A host of nephews, nieces, and friends also welcomed Dad to heaven.
Left to treasure many precious memories are his wife of 67 years Kathleen (Erickson) and their cherished four children: Daughter Connie (Lloyd) Haugerud, their children Brent, Kevin (Lisa) and Amanda; Daughter Trudy Jackson (Tom Carson), her children Chantelle (Trent) Ollivier, Cory (Lori); Son Arnell (Tammie), and children Alicia (Rob) Daigneault, Crystal (Hunter) Harmon, Tyson; Son Randy (& special friends Pam Harrison, Miranda and Matthew Degerness) and sisters-in-law Ellen Pearson, Lillian Oberg, Edna Lindskog, and brother-in-law Ken Erickson. Dad also loved and cherished his twenty great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Dad lived a very full life. He began his working career helping on the family farm as well as working in the lumber mill alongside his brother-in-law Dave Reimer. Later Dad enjoyed working for farmers in the Brockington area, and he finished his working career at Parkland Hospital in Melfort.
Much fun was had when his plentiful family & friends were around with many a card game played around kitchen tables. Dad also enjoyed being the emcee for many weddings in the Brockington area. After moving to Melfort in 1977, Mom & Dad had more time to enjoy life with their family and friends. They took joy in spending many summers camping throughout western Canada and the US. Mom and Dad hosted many holiday meals and remain a shining example of long-time love and shared happiness with all who knew them.
A Celebration of Lloyd’s life will held from the Fedusiak Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 23, 2021 with Pastor Gary Schenk officiating. The interment followed in the Carrot River Valley Lutheran Church Cemetery.
