Duties
Building Maintenance
- Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
- Performing preventative maintenance.
- Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
- Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
- Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
- Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
- Ensure adequate supplies are maintained with regard to regular equipment maintenance

- furnace filters, door knobs, etc.

- Ensure tasks are prioritized
- Tidy up all boardrooms, common areas and washrooms (wash floors, vacuum, garbage)
- Regular cleaning of outside of facility (window washing, cleaning of siding, etc.)
Property Maintenance
- Ensure snow removal of all entrances, and walkways at all times
- Ensure grass is cut and neat and grounds around facilities are tidy from garbage and disarray
- Collection of garbage from all departments and disposing in bins (daily)
- Ensure donations are sorted and neat in storage (garage area only)
- Delivery of larger donations to clients upon their departure from shelter
Vehicle Maintenance
- Maintain logs for Tractor maintenance. No vehicles to maintain. All department responsible for their own vehicle (Just tractor)
- Schedule any other repairs, as directed by Managers.
2nd Stage Duties
- Regular and general maintenance of suites
- Cleaning, repairing and preparation of suites between tenants
- All property maintenance as above (snow removal, grass cutting, etc.)
- All building maintenance as above (preventative and basic repairs)
Administrative Duties
- Maintenance records – daily, weekly, monthly; weekly keeps copy of invoices and sends to Finance Department

- Ensure safety, security and protection of the occupants of the facilities
- Adhere to agency policies and procedures
- Work independently and in a team atmosphere, in accordance to the agency philosophy, mission and goals
- Maintain professional and ethical boundaries
- Be non-judgmental, respectful, empathetic to clients’ needs, and a healthy role model
Qualifications
- Previous experience in maintenance
- Skilled with various hand and power tools
- Be able to read blueprints and repair manuals.
- High School diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, nights and weekends
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
- Demonstrate knowledge of and empathy for victims of interpersonal violence
- Preference will be given to individual living within the service area of North East Outreach and Support Services Inc.
- Must possess a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license
- Must be prepared to provide a criminal records check, vulnerable persons check and third party liability
