Margaret Mclean Bayerle

February 12, 1940 – June 9, 2025

With great sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Mclean Bayerle (née McKay) in Melfort, SK, on Monday, June 9 at the age of 85 years.

Margaret is survived by her son Pete (Vanessa), daughter Tracey (Dale), grandchildren Isla and Kieran, and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Peter; her parents Robert and Winifred, her brother Hugh, and her sister Helen.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland on Feb. 12, 1940, Margaret moved to Calgary as a teenager with her family, where soon after she met her husband-to-be, Peter, who similarly had immigrated to Calgary with his family from Germany. The pair were married on June 10, 1961, with Pete and Tracey completing their family not too long after.

Margaret’s favourite pastimes included hiking and skiing with her family, going dancing with her friends, relaxing over a good book with a hot cup of coffee, and opening her home to cats in extra need of a soft landing.

In 2021, she moved from Calgary to Melfort to be closer to her daughter Tracey.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on June 27, 2025 at Fedusiak Funeral Chapel (306 Saskatchewan Dr. W) in Melfort. For those unable to attend, a graveside service will be held on June 25, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens (17 Ave SW and Lower Springbank Road, Calgary).
