It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Marnie Louise Glass on June 17th, 2026 in Melfort, Saskatchewan.
Marnie was born on September 27th, 1946 in Calgary, Alberta to George and Agnes (Nan) Tingle. After graduating from Crescent Heights High School, she worked in an administrative capacity for organizations including I.B.M., Calgary Herald, the Gronlid Library, Human Resources Development Canada, and Hodgins Auctions, among others. Marnie, her husband Mike, and their good friend Ken Paul were members of the musical group Trinity, and they performed at many weddings and dances in the community over the years.
Marnie loved to play cards, crib, and bingo. She also enjoyed playing the slot machines, and she always looked forward to her annual trips to Las Vegas with her childhood best friends. She loved sunny days spent at the lake fishing with family and friends and singing songs around the campfire. She was musically gifted; she played the piano by ear and could harmonize beautifully when singing. She loved animals and had many dear pets over the years. Most of all, Marnie loved spending time with her beloved family and many cherished friends. She was an excellent listener and was always there to provide words of support and encouragement. She was a faithful correspondent to many through regular emails, letters, cards, phone calls, and text messages. She was deeply loyal to the people she cared about, and she had many friendships that spanned decades. Marnie was also an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and would have celebrated her 41st A.A. birthday on August 11th, 2026.
Marnie was predeceased by her parents, George and Agnes Tingle, as well as by various aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her husband Mike; her daughter Aimee (Pato) and grandchildren Emma and Benjamin; her sister Sandra (Peter); niece Donna, nephews Michael and Steven, their families, and numerous other beloved relatives and friends, too many to mention by name. Marnie will be missed beyond measure by those who knew her and loved her.
A celebration of Marnie’s life will be held on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Fedusiak Funeral Chapel in Melfort, SK.
