Mary was born on August 5, 1915 on the homestead near the present town of Gronlid.  She was the eldest child of John Brodoway and Annie Tomashewski.

In 1917, the family moved to the Belgrave  District and in 1927 they moved to a farm north of Beatty, where she attended school.  In 1934, Mary married Alex Zaleschuk.  They farmed at Beatty moving to the Belgrave District in 1942 and retiring to Melfort in 1967.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1993, her parents, and three brothers and their wives;  Michael (May), William (Emily), and Joseph, and Mary’s sister Evelyn (Ross).

Mary is survived by her loving children son John, daughter Mildred (William Markham), three nieces and four nephews.

Mary’s Funeral Service was held from the Fedusiak Funeral Chapel on June 24, 2021 with Father Patrick Powalinsky officiating.  The interment followed in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Melfort.
