Murray Grant Prost passed away on July 11th after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 19th, 1954 to Bill and Betty Prost in Melfort, SK. Murray started his education at Kew Garden School and then finished high school in Pleasantdale, SK. After completing high school, Murray got a job in Estevan with Flint Construction. He met Gail Jestin in Naicam in 1973. He moved to Regina in 1975 and worked for MelCor Homes, and that was the beginning of his love for carpentry. He then attended SIAST in Moose Jaw, and achieved his Journeyman Ticket. Murray married Gail on June 5th, 1976 and they lived in Regina for four years until the love of the Melfort area, and all it offered, took Murray and Gail back to Melfort. He started Prost Homes Ltd., which he ran from 1980 to 2019. He mentored many “Boys” and was very proud of “His Guys” and all of their accomplishments. Murray worked hard and he also played hard. He loved sledding, hunting, fishing, golfing, relaxing on the boat, sitting on their deck and enjoying nature in it’s every aspect.
Murray will be lovingly missed by his wife Gail, and all his family and friends.
A service celebrating Murray’s life will be held from the Kerry Vickar Centre, Melfort, on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 2:00 pm.
