Naddie Parchewsky was born on March 7, 1938 in Taras school district, just north of Gronlid, SK. Her father was a teacher therefore her school aged years were spent in a number of school districts, including Taelman, Meacham and Mistatim, SK. In 1956, Naddie graduated Grade 12 from Tisdale Comprehensive High School and then attended Saskatoon Business College. Upon completion of her training she found employment with Great West Life Assurance Co. as an accountant.
Naddie met Bohdan in 1958 at her twin sister Vera’s wedding. On June 7, 1959 they were married in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Saints Peter & Paul in the Brooksby area where they lived and farmed for 59 years. In 2018, they moved into Melfort and greatly enjoyed their retirement.
Naddie participated in every aspect of farm life. She contributed her talents and skills to help raise cattle, to support grain production, to grow a bountiful garden and to be a terrific homemaker. Naddie loved to travel, she loved camping and she treasured hosting company. She enjoyed working in the church and serving in the ladies association which she joined the year she was married.
Naddie was a beautiful person, quiet in nature, sincere and very generous. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren immeasurably. She was a good friend to everyone in her family and community.
Naddie was predeceased by her parents Michael and Anna Parchewsky; brother Lawrence Parchewsky and his wife Marge; son-in-law Raymond Potter and granddaughter Ashley Cipywnyk.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband of 64½ years, Bohdan; children Leon (and Lenore) Cipywnyk, Larissa Cipywnyk, Terry Ann (and Darcy) Young, Tanya (and Joe) Giulford; grandchildren Kris (and Kalyna) Cipywnyk, Kevin Cipywnyk, Kyle Young, Kelsey Young, Gabrielle Giulford and Jackson Giulford; twin sister Vera Cipywnyk and younger sister Lorraine (and Orest) Nykoluk.
We could not ask for a more kind, more loving or more giving wife, mother, Baba and friend. We loved her with all our hearts. May she rest in peace.
