Phylis M. Sinclair was born on December 12, 1937 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on December 8, 2025 at Newmarket Manor in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. Phylis was predeceased by her parents, Lambert and May Lemmerich and husband Jim Sinclair.

Phylis was raised on a family farm west of Humboldt. Following graduation from high school, she began a career with SaskTel and moved to Melfort where she met her husband, Jim, and married in 1960. Together, they enjoyed many years of happiness raising their 5 children in Melfort. In later years, they enjoyed a quieter lifestyle including travel and staying in touch with and visiting their adult children and grandchildren. Phylis remained an active member of the Catholic Church in Melfort throughout her adult life.

Phylis moved to the Elizabeth retirement home in Humboldt in 2023 where she had a few years enjoying the company of her Humboldt family. In 2025, her health worsened following a stroke and a more recent cancer diagnosis, and she moved into a nursing home in Tisdale, Saskatchewan to live her remaining days in close proximity to her daughter, Barb.

Phylis is remembered by her sister Ruth Hiebert, brother Gordon Lemmerich; daughters Barb Spencer and Wendy Sinclair; sons Jim, Glen and Paul Sinclair; son-in-laws Reg Spencer and Patrick Reeves; daughter-in-law Despena Sinclair; and grandchildren Riley Spencer (Jasmine), Nicole Spencer (Matt), Robbie Sinclair (Sarah), Max Sinclair, Meg Sinclair, Shannon Sinclair, David Sinclair and Ben Sinclair; as well as her nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank the caregivers at Elizabeth in Humboldt, St. Mary’s Villa in Humboldt and Newmarket Manor in Tisdale for their kindness and gentle care during Phylis’s stays.

Funeral Service for Phylis will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Consolation RC Church.
