Velvet Mae Pomedli

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Velvet Mae Pomedli, who left us suddenly on July 9, 2025, at the age of 61.

Velvet was born in Spalding Saskatchewan on June 23, 1964 to Donald and Gail Kager where she grew up on her family farm west of Pleasantdale. Velvet married Leslie in July of 1983, embarking on a new chapter that saw them build their life and start their family on a farm by Pleasantdale.

Velvet was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by her three children: Eric and his son Deacon; Trina (Dave) and her daughters McKenna and Rylee; and Stephanie (Mike) and her daughter Mayze and step-son Zaidyn. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Velvet is survived by her mother Gail Kager, sisters Mona (Brent) Laurans and Kristina (Murray) Kwasny, mother in law Jean Pomedli and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Velvet was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Pomedli, father Donald Kager, brother David Kager and father in law Lawrence Pomedli.

Velvet loved to spend her summers out at her cabin, entertain friends and having her family around her. She had a vibrant spirit and a warm heart that touched everyone she met. She will be remembered for her kindness and her unwavering love for her family. Her presence brought joy and comfort to many, and her memory will forever be a treasure to all who knew and loved her.

A service to celebrate Velvet’s life will be held at Pleasantdale Community Hall on July 22, 2025 at 2:00PM.
