It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Victoria Mary (Vicki) Malden on September 4, 2020.
Vicki was born in Wilcox, SK, in 1949 to Frank & Marjorie Germann. She was the oldest daughter to what would ultimately become a family of 10 children.
In 1970, Vicki met Dale. Two years later, they were married. The two were the ultimate team as they built their life together and showed everyone what true love was (and what it required). They spent several years in Regina prior to moving to Prince Albert in 1976 where Dale began his teaching career. After the two started their own family in 1979, Vicki operated a daycare from the home, taught piano, and worked within the community.
In 1989, Vicki and family moved to Melfort. For over 30 years, Vicki taught and inspired young children to love music through the Music for Young Children (MYC) Program. Vicki’s teachings were just the beginning, as she prepared her students for the next phase as they moved into Dale’s band program. Together, her and Dale, were an incredible team, teaching and sharing music with thousands of children over the years.
Family and friends were extremely important to Vicki. She was the ultimate hostess; enjoying every opportunity to bring people together to enjoy new recipes and share in her homemade wines. She was the biggest cheerleader for her children, providing endless support through school, sports, and ultimately, life. She found her true calling when she became a grandmother and would spend countless hours entertaining her grandkids with her seemingly endless supply of energy.
Vicki was predeceased by her mother, Marjorie Germann, her father, Francis Germann, her sister, Regina Germann and her brothers, Leo Germann and Vince Germann.
Left to mourn are her loving husband of 48 years, Dale, son Chris (Amanda), daughter Melissa (Wade), grandchildren Logan and Branson, her 6 siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Our Lady of Consolation Roman Catholic Church, Melfort. The interment followed in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Friends so wishing may make memorial contributions to a Charity of One’s Choice.
