Wanda Zubrowski

Wanda Maria Zubrowski (nee Smolnik) was born on August 30, 1948 in Złoty Stok, Poland and passed away at the Hudson Bay Hospital on July 14, 2019 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Wanda moved to Canada in 1972 and lived and worked in Montreal. In 1973, with the same spirit of adventure that brought her to Canada, Wanda came to Prairie River, SK and married Chester Zubrowski. They farmed near Prairie River and had two children – Ramona and Cory.
Wanda enjoyed fishing, camping and playing music. She sang and played the accordion and loved jam sessions and playing with bands like “Five Alive” and “The Sundowners.”
Wanda is survived by her husband, Chester Zubrowski, her daughter, Ramona and son-in-law Arkadiusz Salamucha, her son, Cory and daughter-in-law Jamie Windjack, and her six beloved grandchildren – Wave, Braun, Ksawier, Grayson, Lewis and Morgan. She is predeceased by her father, Henryk Smolnik, her mother, Wladyslawa Smolnik, and her sister, Maria Chernysh.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church, Hudson Bay, SK on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 1:00 pm.
