Yvonne M. Smith (nee Bebeault-Nelson) was born on February 26, 1942 in Hudson Bay Saskatchewan. She was the middle child of six children, Bob, Ken, Eileen, Darlene & Kevin.
Yvonne lived in Melfort, Sask. and raised her four children: Terry, Karen, Tracy & Darcy there. She was hardworking and always made her children 1st priority. While raising her children she also took on a foster child, Stanley Sanderson and helped with her grandchildren.
In 1987 she moved to Prince Albert to attend SIAST and pursue employment. She completed an Office Certificate Program at SIAST and worked at various positions in the city. In retirement Yvonne enjoyed writing, gardening and baking and spending time with friends and family. She had a beautiful entourage of flowers each year on her deck and penned many beautiful poems. She always had available for her grandchildren and great grandchildren various cookies: peanut butter, chocolate chip and ginger, mixed in with some words of wisdom and a good game of competitive Scrabble or Yahtzee for those who dared to challenge her.
Yvonne was very proud of her children, her eight grandchildren and her six great grandchildren. A proud Metis woman, she belonged to the Prince Albert Local 7 and enjoyed many of the Metis activities especially the Christmas Bingo. She had a generous heart and for many years sponsored a World Vision child and donated to many charities.
