Tisdale Arts Council bringing back live music to northeast

Tisdale Arts Council (TAC) is bringing back a crowd favourite, live music.

The Bromantics will hit the stage on Friday, Mar. 25 at the Maurice Taylor Performing Arts Theater.

Sharon Hankins, president of the TAC told northeastNOW that the show will be a perfect mix of brass instruments, vintage guitar tones and doo-wop harmonies.

“They are a really energized group of six that are paying tribute to 50s music.”

The show will be a combination of unmistakable hits from the decade and original songs from the group.

Although restrictions across the province have been lifted, the event will be mask friendly and will feature room for social distancing.

“We are not setting up the Maurice Taylor Performing Arts Theater to capacity. We are setting up for 165 people only so that there will be a little bit of distancing still available.”

Hankins said that the TAC did host an event in November. However, due to restrictions and the growing worry about the pandemic, those who would usually attend stayed home to be cautious.

“I think people seem to be kind of happy to be able to come back and relieved that they could come back.”

The pandemic not only affected the TAC but the music industry as a whole and Hankins is excited to be bringing back live music to the community.

“It’s really a good feeling to know that we can get back into having some of the performances again. We like to bring in four to five concerts every year and at very reasonable prices so that people can afford to attend them.”

Those looking for concert dates for the 2022 to 2023 concert season are encouraged to keep their eyes on the Facebook page. Details will be released in the coming weeks.

Tickets to see the Bromantics are available at Northeast Appliance Plus on Main Street in Tisdale and are $20 each.
