Nipawin councillor resigns

One of Nipawin’s town councillors has resigned from his position.

Ray Serack stepped down from council effective today citing personal reasons according to a news released issued by the town. Mayor Rennie Harper said Serack put the interests of the community first.

“Ray unfailingly approached his responsibilities on council with a deep sense of commitment… ensuring the best interests of the community were carefully balanced with the needs of the residents,” Harper said in the release.

The town will now hold a byelection to fill the vacant seat, but no date has been set.
