Melfort Fire dept. responds to tractor fire

A fire that started in a tractor quickly spread to a farmer’s field south of Melfort Sunday.
Melfort Fire and Rescue was called out around to a field near Silver Park yesterday afternoon. When they arrived firefighters found the tractor on fire and saw the blaze had already spread into the bush. Thankfully weather conditions were favourable, as the wind pushed the fire towards a slough.
The firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, though the tractor was deemed a total loss.
