Melfort Fire responds to pair of calls on Wednesday

Jan 23, 2020 | 9:33 AM

The Melfort Fire Department responded to multiple calls on Wednesday.

First, crews were called to a motor vehicle collision just east of the intersection of Highways 3, 41, and 6 around 8:30 a.m. EMS was already on scene and informed the department they were not needed.

Then just before 8:30 p.m., crews were called to a grain dryer fire at Pioneer grain on Highway 41. Crews found flames and smoke coming from the dryer and was then emptied so it could be extinguished.

Crews then inspected the inside to make sure all the hot spots were eliminated.
