Community Scavenger Hunt taking place around Melfort

Feb 3, 2020 | 3:03 PM

Getting out and active is the aim of a scavenger hunt hosted by the City of Melfort over the next month.

The hunt includes clues to 10 locations, each with a secret word, that adds up to a secret message.

Once participants unscramble the hidden message, they can enter for some prizes according to the city’s recreation programmer, Shannon Marshall.

“We have a one-hour pool rental and a one-hour gym time for those who enter,” Marshall said.

Packages are available at city hall, the Northern Lights Palace Pool, the Melfort Public Library and the Melfort Museum at no charge.

The hunt may also serve as way to beat winter blues that tend to set in at this time of year as well.

“There are a lot of great different Melfort locations and/or experiences that you will see when you collect the words,” Marshall said.

The scavenger hunt got underway over the weekend and runs until March 10.

“Just getting people out and getting them active and seeing different things around town,” Marshall said.
