Coalition of Aboriginal Peoples of Saskatchewan Notice of Annual General Meeting
“As President of the Coalition of Aboriginal Peoples of Saskatchewan (CAPS), it’s my honour and privilege to invite First Nations living off reserve and Métis to our 2020 Annual General Meeting,” said John Hanikenne, President of CAPS.
Our Annual General Meeting will take place on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at the Indian & Métis Friendship Centre located at 1409 1 Avenue in Prince Albert. As John Hanikenne, current President of CAPS is stepping down from the position, an election for President and Vice President of CAPS will take place as part of the Annual General Meeting.
The Annual General Meeting is a core part of the organization’s governance structure. Our members can review accomplishments and celebrate achievements. Fiscal year 2019-2020 was a very busy year, which involved hosting community outreach and engagement sessions throughout Saskatchewan. Participants were able to speak to issues and priorities that were of concern to them:
· Implementation of the inherent right of self-government as it relates to off reserve Aboriginal peoples;
