Mustangs commit forward from Spruce Grove for 2021/2022

The Melfort Mustangs have announced another addition to the team, making it the first forward to commit to the Mustangs for the 2021/2022 season.
2003-born Cody Laliberte of Spruce Grove, Alta. has committed to the Mustangs and is listed as 6’0″ and 174 lbs. He started the season with the CAC Canadians program based out of Edmonton as part of the U18 AAA ranks. He scored once and added two assists for three points before COVID-19 paused the season.
“Cody is a player who plays the game at full speed, and were happy to bring him into our program,” said Mustang head coach and general manager Trevor Blevins in a release. “He has great hockey IQ and with his offensive capabilities is a player we look forward to seeing produce in our lineup.”
In 2019/2020, Laliberte played in the U18 AA ranks with the PAC Spruce Grove Saints. He was second on the team in scoring with 12 goals and 26 assists for 38 points.
