Town of Carrot River chooses acting mayor, set by-election

The Town of Carrot River has made some decisions regarding the mayor’s chair.

At their council meeting on Tuesday, March 23, Dylan Borody was appointed as the acting mayor. Borody has been on town council since 2018.

Council also set the date for the by-election, which will be held on May 12. The call for nominations begins on Thursday, March 25, and will be open until April 7 at 4 p.m. at the town office.

The town said in a release that they will be following all public health guidelines for the by-election,

This comes as Dennis Letendre stepped down as mayor last week.
