Job Fair

Humboldt & District Chamber hosting job fair

Apr 26, 2022 | 5:00 PM

Those in the Humboldt area looking for a job will have an opportunity to speak with multiple businesses trying to fill positions.

The Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce is hosting a job fair on May 11 at St. Peters College gymnasium in Muenster.

Around 40 businesses are expected to participate.

Brent Fitzpatrick, the executive director of the regional chamber, told northeastNOW there’s a good chance people can find a job, no matter their experience.

“It’s from entry-level right up to skilled. In conversations, there really isn’t one single area that’s larger in demand than any other.”

One of the businesses who’ll be in attendance will be BHP, an international mining company currently working on the Jansen potash mine project.

Along with possible new employees, they are also looking for regional businesses to participate in the project.

Fitzpatrick added these fairs are just as beneficial to businesses as they are to those looking for a job.

“It’s actually quite rare to run into a company that says we’re good to go, we’re fully staffed.”

Those interested in participating are encouraged to reach out to the regional chamber. It will be first come, first serve.

The job fair will take place from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 11.

Meanwhile, a second job fair will be held on May 12 at the Muskowekwan First Nation Bingo Hall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
