WATER RESCUE

Neighbour rescues driver from creek near Kinistino

Apr 28, 2022 | 2:25 PM

A Good Samaritan braved chilly waters to rescue a driver after their vehicle ended up in a creek near Kinistino.

Chief of the Kinistino Fire Department, Brennan Smith said crews were called to a water rescue south of the town around 5:37 p.m. on Wednesday. When they arrived, they found the driver of that vehicle safe and out of the water.

“The neighbour that lives right near the creek went into the water and got the victim out. What had happened is the car went over the edge of the bridge and we were going out for a water rescue with possible entrapment but when we arrived on scene the driver of the vehicle had notified us that there was nobody else in the vehicle.”
