Melfort sees record high temperature, another heat wave expected soon
If you thought it was unusually hot in Melfort this past weekend, you’d be right.
The temperature in the community on Saturday hit a high of 31.7 C, a new daily record that beat the 31.5 C set back in 1986. That’s according to Environment Canada which has records as far back as 1910.
Meteorologist Terri Lang told northeastNOW the sudden rise was probably quite surprising for some.
“I think it was more of a shock to folks that, A: couldn’t believe the temperature could turn around that fast and, B: they haven’t climatized to the heat yet.”
