Cumberland House RCMP searching for wanted man

Jul 26, 2022 | 4:55 PM

Cumberland House RCMP has issued a warrant for a man after he was reportedly uttering threats at a home in the Cree Nation.

When RCMP members arrived following the report on July 25, the home was on fire and local fire services were called to extinguish the blaze. While the interior of the home was heavily damaged, there was no injuries reported.

While investigating this incident, officers also received a report of a separate assault that happened earlier this year.

As a result of the investigation, Cumberland House RCMP have laid charges and issued a warrant for Lawrence McGillivary, 29, of Cumberland House Cree Nation.

He faces charges of arson, uttering threats, and assault causing bodily harm.

McGillivary stands 5-10 tall and weighs 175 lb. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

RCMP are asking people not to approach McGillivary if he is sighted and to contact Cumberland House RCMP at 306-888-5550.

Information can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submitting a tip online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
