UPDATE: The third Dangerous Persons Alert is now cancelled, after police located and arrested two suspects related to a shooting in Lloydminster and an attempted fuel theft in the RM of Britannia. Maidstone RCMP has confirmed that a total of five people have been arrested.

Maidstone RCMP are investigating reports of shots fired at a residence in the Rural Municipality of Brittania near Lloydminster, SK.

Police said the shots are reported to have come from a black, newer model Ford Mustang. Its the same vehicle suspected of shots fired at a residence in Lloydminster and attempted fuel theft in the RM of Britannia. At this time, it’s not believed to be connected to the James Smith Cree Nation investigation.

If in the area, seek immediate shelter/shelter in place. Do not leave a secure location. Do not approach suspicious persons. Do not pick up hitch hikers. Report sightings of vehicle or info to police or 9 1 1.

This is the third alert issued by RCMP in as many days. The first was a dangerous persons alert issued Sunday morning in connection to several fatal stabbings on James Earth Cree Nation and Weldon, SK. The alert is still in place.

The second alert was for dangerous persons connected to reports of shots fired in Witchekan Lake First Nation. That alert was called off Tuesday morning after one of the two suspects was arrested. Police said the incident was also unrelated to the stabbing incidents in northeast Saskatchewan.
