Feb 14, 2023 | 10:01 AM

The Humboldt Broncos picked up four big points this past weekend, as they continue to fight for second place in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) standings.

Twenty-year-old forward, Alec Saretzky, was a key contributor to their most recent success, having scored twice while adding two assists, good for four points in just two games.

This earned him the league’s SGEU MVP of the Week award.

The Saskatoon product has been a consistent goal-scoring threat for the green and yellow as of late, as he’s racked up 10 goals in the past 10 games.

Saretzky now has 24 goals and 14 assists, so far this season.

His team also earned four points against the division-rival Kindersley Klippers, in the past seven days, as Humboldt currently sits in a tie for third place with the La Ronge Ice Wolves, with six games in hand.

The 30-12-1 Broncos also only sit two points behind the Flin Flon Bombers, with two games in hand.

The organization’s next contest is tomorrow night, against the Notre Dame Hounds, in Wilcox.
