Sixth annual Touch-A-Truck coming back to Melfort

Aug 4, 2023 | 6:00 AM

The Melfort and District Chamber of Commerce (MTACC) is holding its sixth annual touch-a-truck event to teach children about different vehicles they may see in the community.

It’s taking place on Aug. 11 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Co-op Mall parking lot.

“There’s going to be a number of large trucks and vehicles. The city is going to be there, the fire department and a number of other trucks as well to get up close and personal with,” said Cal Gratton, the executive director of the MTACC.

All of the vehicles at the event will be available for attendees to view, touch and learn about how they work and benefit the northeast.

There will also be opportunities for all eventgoers to ask questions of the vehicle operators to better understand how they work and the history behind them.

Gratton also believes the event will help people learn about and explore local businesses.

“Take a couple of hours to do some local shopping and see what the touch-a-truck has for you,” he said.

Meanwhile, there will be entertainment for all ages to enjoy including Maddie the Balloon Artist and Ol’ McDales Friendly Farm and Travelling Petting Zoo.
