Travel not recommended around Hudson Bay, some school bus routes cancelled

The freezing rain and icy conditions have led to some problems for drivers in areas of the northeast.

Freezing rain warnings remain for many areas in that region including Melfort, Nipawin, Tisdale, and Hudson Bay.

According to the Highway Hotline, travel is not recommended on Highways 3 and 9 around Hudson Bay due to icy conditions.

Those conditions have also forced the cancellations of some bus routes in the North East School Division.

This includes all routes in Hudsay Bay as routes affecting students in Choicelandm Tisdale, Carrot River, and Melfort
