A great grocery store is known for many things: freshness, quality, variety, customer service, and a willingness to go above and beyond. Cindy’s Independent Grocer in Melfort has all of those qualities and more – which led them to being named the 2024 Best of the Best (BOB) award winner for ‘Best Grocery Store’ in the northeast.
It all starts at the top with Cindy Quinton and her team. Cindy has been with parent company Loblaw for over two decades, and in the food industry since she was 16.
She remains passionate about feeding residents in Melfort and across northeast Saskatchewan.
“I love how food brings us together. Shopping for food is a necessity, but it doesn’t have to be challenged,” Cindy said.
What does it mean to be an Independent Grocer? According to Quinton, franchise ownership builds strong relationships and diversity within the community. At the same time, Loblaw provides support “to serve the customer with the brands people have come to trust.”
Cindy’s Independent Grocer features the iconic Presidents Choice (PC) and No Name brands. Cindy’s is also known for the freshness of the produce section along with the delicious deli offerings, including soup, chicken wings, salads, and much more.
