Mustangs commit second Trojan for next season

Mar 13, 2024 | 5:21 PM

Another member of the Tisdale Trojans has decided to suit up for the Melfort Mustangs next season.

On Wednesday, the team announced that Tristin Ziola will be a part of the organization in 2024/25 after the 2006-born forward announced his commitment.

Ziola is no stranger to donning the Blue and Green jersey, having already suited up twice this season as an affiliate player.

The Kelvington native played twice back in December (6th and 12th) most notably scoring the game-winner in Melville against the Millionaires for his first career SJHL goal.

Assisting that particular score was his current Trojans teammate, Jaxon Kehrig, who committed to Melfort back on Dec. 18th.

The two will suit up for Tisdale in Saskatoon tonight, as they begin their second round of the playoffs series against the Blazers.

In 42 regular season games this year, Ziola has eight goals and nine assists, good for 17 points. Through five postseason games so far, he has found the back of the net once.

According to the Mustangs organization, they view the five-foot-eleven, 170-pounder as a player with a “great work ethic”, along with possessing a “high level of determination.”

The 17-year-old also has prior experience with the North East Wolfpack and Humboldt Broncos at the U18 AA level, as well as with the Yorkton Terriers at the U15 AA mark.
