Nipawin approves deal with CUPE, holding public meeting on dog park
The Town of Nipawin has agreed with the union representing its workers.
Council approved the collective bargaining agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 777-1 on a new three-year deal at their meeting on Monday.
“We agreed to ten per cent over three years, so it would be a four per cent increase in 2024, three per cent in 2025, and three per cent in 2026,” Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Michele Sorensen told northeastNOW. She said it’s nice to be able to check that off the to-do list.
The town also announced they will be hosting a public meeting to address several topics, including the location of their dog park. The town had proposed a location for the park but a group of citizens had expressed concern about where the park would be developed.
