Accused weapons trafficker in court on Monday
A Hudson Bay man facing several firearms and drug related charges will appear in court via video on Monday, Mar. 25.
56-year-old Steven Bondy was charged after a home in the Viellardville area was searched by the Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and the Saskatchewan RCMP Emergency Response Team (SERT) Mar. 6.
Officers seized 40 rifles, two handguns, about 20 more firearms in various states of disassemble, over 10 thousand rounds of ammunition, powder and rifle casings used to reload shells, boxes of prohibited high-capacity rifle magazines, two crates of illegal cigarettes, mint coins and gold jewelry that is believed to be stolen, and small amounts of cocaine and crystal methamphetamine and trafficking paraphernalia.
Bondy is charged with one count of weapons trafficking, two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
