Wynyard-born doctor named head of Sask. Pediatrics
The new provincial head of pediatrics in Saskatchewan who also serves as head of the SHA and the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine was born in Wynyard before moving to Manitoba as a young child.
Dr. Terry Klassen started his new position on April 1 after a long career in emergency pediatrics and as a clinician scientist.
“My vision for pediatrics in Saskatchewan is a strong provincial system of care for children, youth and their families,” Klassen said.
“When emergencies happen, when care is needed, I want families to know that high-quality services and acute care is available not only at Saskatoon’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, but across the province, and that children will be able to go home or get closer to home as soon as possible to continue healing.”
