Two charged after weapons incident at James Smith Cree Nation

Two people face multiple charges after an incident at the James Smith Cree Nation (JSCN).

Melfort RCMP received a call of a possible shooting on JSCN April 11, and they say an adult sustained minor injuries in the incident.

Two people were arrested at the scene.

Twenty-three-year-old Jodi Sanderson faces six firearms-related offenses, two counts of assault with a weapon, one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, one operating a vehicle while prohibited, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Sanderson will appear in Melfort Provincial Court April 22.

Razi Twist, 28, has been charged with four firearms-related offenses, one count of carrying a concealed weapon, and four counts of failing to comply with a release order.

Twist will have a show/cause hearing in Melfort Provincial Court April 18.
