Listen: Manitoba summit looks at ways to eradicate wild pigs

Apr 26, 2024 | 5:00 PM

The Wild Pig Summit was held this week in Brandon, Man. to help launch a strategy to control the feral pig population on the Prairies, as well as parts of Ontario and BC.

It is very difficult to get an accurate number of wild pigs because the animals move at night and are experts in camouflage.

Animal Health Canada Director of the Emergency Management Division Erica Charlton explains the purpose of the gathering was to create awareness and provide information on what’s happening in other jurisdictions.
