Jets’ Dillon out for Game 4 after suffering nasty cut to his hand, Stanley draws in

DENVER — Winnipeg Jets defenceman Brenden Dillon will not play Game 4 against the Colorado Avalanche today due to a left hand injury.

He suffered a nasty gash from a skate blade during a melee at the end of a 6-2 loss in Game 3 on Friday.

Jets coach Rick Bowness says Dillon needed “a lot” of stitches to repair the cut and doctors feel he needs more time before returning to the lineup.

Bowness adds he’s hopeful Dillon will be able to return for Game 5 on Tuesday in Winnipeg.

The Jets need a win this afternoon at Ball Arena to pull even in the best-of-seven first-round playoff series.

Logan Stanley will replace Dillon in the lineup. The Jets are also bringing in speedy forward Axel Jonsson-Fjallby for David Gustafsson.
