Tisdale Trojans drop 4-3 decisions to Estevan to open 2024-25 season

A couple of narrow losses for the Tisdale Trojans as they opened their Saskatchewan Male AAA Hockey League schedule for 2024-25.

Tisdale dropped a couple of 4-3 games to the Estevan Great North Bears on the weekend.

Eric Han had two goals for the Trojans in Saturday’s loss, while Carter Geysen finished with a goal and an assist.

Pryce Thiessen opened the scoring in Sunday’s contest, but Estevan responded with three unanswered goals.

Sean Shiels and Parker Salisbury replied for Tisdale with goals in the second and third periods, but Dylan Brass scored the winner on the powerplay with less than five minutes left to give the Great North Bears the weekend sweep.

Jackson Dunn and Wyatt Fleischhacker each made 29 saves in the pair of losses.

The Trojans will host their home opener at the RECPlex Saturday at 7:30 p.m. versus the Swift Current Legionnaires.

Tisdale will also face Swift Current Sunday at 2.
