Here are your local Saskatchewan United Party candidates

Oct 21, 2024 | 1:00 PM

Election week across Saskatchewan starts on Tuesday, as residents get their first chance to cast their ballots in-person.

The northeastNOW newsroom reached out to two local Saskatchewan United Party (SUP) candidates that we had not yet interviewed. However, the candidates did not return messages before publication.

Clint Gottinger is the SUP candidate in the Kelvington-Wadena constituency.

Clint Gottinger. (Saskatchewan United Party)

Gottinger was born in Balcarres and grew up in Hudson Bay. He lives on an acreage near his family farm and owns and operates a towing company in the Kelvington area. Prior to that, he had been in the trucking industry for many years.

Gottinger is a father and has been married for 30 years. During his spare time, the classic car enthusiast travels across the province to car shows and entertains in his one-man band.

The SUP candidate in the Melfort constituency is Dave Moore.

Dave Moore. (Saskatchewan United Party)

Moore grew up on a mixed farm in the LeRoy area.

He played hockey for several years, including four years with the Prince Albert Raiders, winning two Canadian championships. That later translated to coaching with several sports teams as his children grew up.

Moore started his accounting career in Melfort, later moving back to LeRoy to continue in accounting and work on the farm with his brother and father. Moore later became a partner with MNP at their Humboldt office in 2003, specializing in agriculture.

He and his wife started a homestead site, establishing a farmyard and building a house. Moore is currently farming with one of his four sons. He and his wife Kari also have a daughter and five grandchildren.

Moore said in his profile he believes the people of the province no longer have a voice, and governing bodies are not listening to the people.

“We have lost trust in all our systems from education, health care, law enforcement, and especially our governments,” Moore said in his SUP profile. “Our local voices, those in the front lines, are no longer heard or valued.”
